We've lived in our house for about 8 years now; and my wife and I are ready to start some renovations. A couple of weeks ago we moved into our spare bedroom and cleaned out all of our stuff. Now the fun begins! The first order of business is to open a closet that was walled over during someone else's renovation. The last owner clued us into the dead space behind the closet in the spare room. So I set out to cut a hole in the wall, and made sure there were no bodies hidden in there. Then I snapped this Pic:
Dude - you missed a huge payday. You should have invited Geraldo Rivera - he likes opening hidden spaces that have nothing in them...

I don't think Geraldo gets funding for things like that anymore :-)

Just curious, did anyone give you insight as to why they would wall over unused space?

When they built the addition it had a new closet in it. I’m guessing the plan was to open the closet on the other side of the wall into the spare bedroom as the closet in that room is built out into the room. I thought about doing that myself, but I’d rather have more closet space in the master bedroom.
Of course I remember you Dean!
