While talking about "Back to the Future" with my wife, we discovered that Jigawatt is really Gigawatt. As you’re already guessing Gigabyte then, should be pronounced Jigabyte. Don’t take my word for it, listen to these pronunciation dictionaries: Encarta Bartleby

It's the same with .gif ... which should be said with a 'J' sound like jiff ... but hear in america we do whatever we want with language ;-)
