I’ve really had enough of the line in the sand, toe-to-toe yelling about which is better, Mac or Windows.
This religious war has really forced people to take sides without knowing the trade-offs. This reminds me very much of the differences in denominations in the Christian world. Just as in the Christian world a schism takes the focus from Jesus to what a bunch of people think; this denominational thinking in computing is far more harmful than it is helpful.
Since I work at a Church I have a clearer view of the mission of the organization I work for than most people. This clarity makes this chasm between Mac and PC users more apparent and more disturbing. Thus I’m writing to get a clearer view of the benefits of both Mac and PC. I want to hear thoughts, tips and tricks in making them both work more happily together.
While speaking with my good friend Adam Tarwacki (known Mac user) about this he said he liked the interoperability of Mac programs. He felt it was better polished than anything PC he’d seen. This is exactly the kind of stuff I want to know. So I’m opening a discussion where you can add your knowledge and opinions to this difficult subject. Beware this is my blog and I”ll not have any sycophantic religious crap. IF you post such drivel, I’ll delete it in its entirety even if you have valuable stuff to say in the post. I have no time to waste making this a war, but instead I want to have a real discussion about the utility of varying desktop platforms on my network.
